My business partners are joking on a regular basis about how I treat my kids when it comes to food.

“Do you know what Judith ‘s kids have to eat for snacks? Fruits and vegetable sticks! No chips, biscuits, buns, sticky rice with chicken or anything like that. Fruits and vegetable sticks, can you believe it?”

When my kids get home from school they regularly find following situation on our family eating table:

Why? because I care about the long term physical and mental health of my children.

And my mission as a parent is to raise my children to get healthy, smart and emotionally balanced adults

What else can we read out of the table above:

Vitamin B’s: Vitamin B’s are important for the nervous system and brain to function as well as for the grow of cells, hairs, skin, nails and connective tissue.

Vitamin B’s can only be absorbed in your pancreas in a ph neutral environment, to balance your ph value you need minerals like calcium and magnesium.

Sticky Rice and chicken do provide the Vitamin B but not the needed minerals to it.

Carbohydrates: the example above shows that there is no need for a big amounts of refined simple sugar carbohydrates in your diet. Vegetables contain a fair amount of vitamin and mineral loaded carbohydrates to energize you without teasing your insulin levels. (glycemic index)

Dietary Fibre: A high-fiber diet has many benefits, which include, balance of bowl movements, lower your risk of developing hemorrhoids, lower total blood cholesterol, can reduce blood pressure and inflammation, which is also protective to heart health, help balance or  improve blood sugar levels, there is evidence that dietary fiber reduces colorectal cancer.
